INSIDE Urbanworld provides festival attendees with an intimate spotlight on one of today’s leading talents in the industry. This one-on-one, candid conversation provides a unique glimpse into the journey of a celebrated actor, director, or producer within the film industry. Featured guests discuss topics such as breaking into and thriving in the business, charting one’s destiny, honing one’s craft, as well as both the successes achieved and challenges faced throughout their career. These memorable, informative, and entertaining dialogues also offer featured guests the opportunity to share perspectives on life and aspirations outside of the film business. Past talent spotlight guests have included: Samuel L. Jackson, Vondie Curtis Hall, Billy Dee Williams, Malcolm Lee and Rosie Perez.

This year’s INSIDE Urbanworld talent spotlight will feature Oscar nominated actress Queen Latifah in a special interview taking place at New York’s DGA Theater, where she will discuss her highly anticipated lead role in the Fox Searchlight film, The Secret Life Of Bees, which will hit NYC in a special screening as Urbanworld’s Closing Night Film on September 13, and then hit theaters nationwide on October 17.
