In Prison My Whole Life
Directed by Marc Evans
Synopsis
William Francome is a fairly typical white middle-class kid. Typical, except for the fact that he is about to embark on a journey into the tangled world of renowned Death Row prisoner and award-winning Black Panther journalist Mumia Abu-Jamal.
Will’s journey brings him face to face with some of the cultural and political icons of a generation. Interviews with Alice Walker, Noam Chomsky, Mos Def, Snoop Dogg, Steve Earle, and Abu-Jamal himself raise questions about the repercussions of racial injustice, not only for those targeted, but for American culture. The film produces brand new evidence and makes a compelling case for Abu-Jamal’s defense.
